Dr. Suren Mewar
Dr. Mewar has been in private practice in Western New York for over 25 years. In addition to earning a Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and was valedictorian of his dental school class. Dr. Mewar formerly served as a Clinical Instructor for the University of Buffalo Orthodontic Department. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the North East Society of Orthodontists and the 8th District Orthodontic Academy, as well as the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the 8th District Dental Association and the Erie County Dental Society. In his spare time, Dr. Mewar enjoys pursuits such as golf, travel and reading.
Dr. Amy Richter
By completing both written and oral examinations and presenting pre- and post-treatment records of her patients in order to demonstrate a high level of clinical proficiency, Dr. Richter recently earned the distinction of being named as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She earned both a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 2008, where she obtained an outstanding didactic and clinical education in treating orthodontic patients with the latest technologies available.
Dr. Richter graduated with High Honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, OH. She was a recipient of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award and the Quintessence Award in Clinical Periodontics. She earned the Delta Sigma Delta Academic Achievement Award and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Scholarship Award, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Gannon University in her hometown of Erie, PA.
Dr. Richter’s research has been presented at the International Association for Dental Research meeting in 2009 and included in a chapter of Monograph 47 of the Craniofacial Growth Series. Her paper, “Incidence of caries lesions among patients treated with comprehensive orthodontics,” has been accepted for publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the 8th District Dental Society.
